Your whole move, in one calm folder.

A house move is a hundred small tasks hiding behind one big date. The Move Folder gathers them into a single calm place — a countdown timeline, room-by-room checklists, address changes, and a box inventory — so you always know the next small step. Moving day becomes boring, in the best possible way.

  • Works with any planner — paper, Notion, or a plain folder
  • Plain files you own — no app, no subscription
  • A moving map, not a filing cabinet — sensitive documents stay secure
  • Set up in an afternoon

The problem was never the move. It was having no single place to hold it.

You are not disorganized. A move is genuinely a lot: notice dates, a mover to book, dozens of companies to tell your new address, a whole home to pack, and one immovable date it all points at.

So the tasks end up scattered — a note on the fridge, a reminder on your phone, a booking email you cannot find, a mental list you re-count at 2am. Nothing is truly lost, but nothing feels held, either.

The fix is quiet and it works: one folder, a countdown timeline, and a few checklists you trust. That is the whole idea — and it is the whole product.

You do not need to do more before your move. You need one calm place that remembers it all for you.

Set up in a single afternoon.

Three small moves. Then it just quietly keeps you on track.

1

Put the whole move in one folder

Copy the timeline and checklists into the tool you already use. One calm place holds the plan, and everyone helping can see it.

2

Follow the countdown, week by week

Each week has a short, calm list. Do this week's, and let the rest wait — the countdown keeps the order so you do not have to.

3

Check things off — and let the rest wait

Label boxes as you pack, tick off who you have told, and watch the pile of unknowns shrink into a plan you trust.

A moving map, not a filing cabinet.

Your Move Folder should hold your plan — the timeline, the checklists, the box inventory, the list of who to tell. It is a map of the move, made to be shared with the people helping you and checked from your phone in a half-empty kitchen.

Because it travels like that, it should never hold the sensitive stuff. Account numbers, passport and ID numbers, bank details, and insurance documents belong in secure storage — a password manager or a locked file — not loose in a shared moving note.

Everything in The Move Folder is built around that line. You get one calm home for the plan, and a clear habit that keeps the private details private. Calm and safe are the same move here.

Questions, answered calmly.

Is this an app I have to log into?

No. The Move Folder is a system plus a set of files you own — delivered as plain Markdown, a Notion template, and a printable version. There is nothing to log into and nothing to subscribe to. Use the tool you already live in, or print it and stick it on the fridge.

I already have a planner. Why do I need this?

Because a planner is a place, not a plan. The Move Folder gives you the missing sequence and checklists — what to do this week, what to pack, who to tell — and drops straight into the planner or notes app you already have.

How far ahead should I start?

Six to eight weeks is calm and comfortable, and the timeline is built for that. On a shorter runway it still works — you simply start further along the countdown. Whenever you begin, the next small step is already clear.

Do you store my details or documents?

Never. The site is static and asks for nothing. Your folder lives in your own files. And by design it is a moving map, not a filing cabinet — keep account numbers and IDs in secure storage, not in your moving notes.

Will this work for a rental, a family move, or downsizing?

Yes. The system is deliberately adaptable — the same calm timeline and checklists flex from a studio rental to a family house to a downsize, and the add-on pack covers moving with kids and pets.
